REMINDER: Safe and Legal Operation of Golf Carts & ATVs in Solomon
5/28/2025
As summer approaches and more residents take to the streets in golf carts and ATVs, the City of Solomon would like to remind everyone of the current regulations in place to ensure safety, courtesy, and compliance across our community.
This is not a new ordinance—just a helpful refresher so everyone can continue to enjoy these modes of transportation safely and legally.
✅ What You Need to Know:
- Drivers must have a valid driver’s license
- Operation is only allowed on public streets, alleys, and roads (Please stay off sidewalks, parks, and lawns)
- Golf Carts: All riders must be seated. Carts must have headlights and a slow-moving vehicle emblem to be driven after dark
- ATVs/UTVs
- Helmets and eye protection are required for anyone under 18
- No extra riders unless the ATV is specifically designed for two
- All vehicles must follow traffic laws (including speed limits, stop signs, and turn signals)
Dirt bikes and go-karts are not allowed on any public street or alley within city limits.
The goal of these guidelines is simple: keep everyone safe and ensure that these options remain available for use well into the future. With your help, we can make sure that operating golf carts, ATVs, and UTVs remains both fun and lawful in our community.
