Solomon Comes Together: Community Resource Fair & Volunteer Day Highlights
5/20/2025
On April 22, the heart of Solomon was on full display as neighbors, volunteers, and local organizations came together for a meaningful day of service and support. The dual-event day featured the 2025 Solomon Community Resource Fair and the first-ever Sunbelt Solomon Volunteer Day — and both were a tremendous success.
Community Resource Fair Recap
More than 30 attendees joined us downtown to enjoy free hotdog meals, connect with community organizations, and explore helpful services available in our area. Participating organizations included:
-
Neighbor to Neighbor - Catholic Charities of Northern Kansas
- The Hope Center
- Food Commodities Program
Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers and organizations that work on outreach to our Solomon community.
To continue to assist with the ongoing need for food and hygiene products donation box will be placed at the City Office. All contributions will be distributed within the Solomon community on the monthly Neighbor to Neighbor distribution date. Individuals, families, or organizations interested in supporting this cause can contact the City Office or Neighbor to Neighbor directly.
Sunbelt Solomon Volunteer Day
Sunbelt Solomon employees volunteered their time and talents to make visible improvements around town:
- Team 1 painted the storage shed at the Senior Center
- Team 2 collected trash across key public areas and parks
In addition, Sunbelt Solomon generously provided all the hotdogs, buns, chips, water,
and even the volunteer grillmaster, Tobias Baxa, who helped serve meals during the Resource Fair.
A special thank you goes out to the Sunbelt team for initiating this volunteer day — the first of its kind for Solomon. Your leadership and community spirit made a big impact and reminded us how small acts of service can build a stronger, more connected town.
“While today’s projects may seem small, the impact of volunteering is anything but. It’s the little things — fresh paint, clean spaces, and a sense of pride — that strengthen our community.”
To every volunteer, organizer, and guest — thank you. You are making a difference.
